Supponor’s Operations team is moving and expanding as the company gears up for the new opportunities presented by DBRLive.

Three staff, currently based at Supponor’s technical base in Finland, are relocating to London to join Head of Operations Guy Hollis, while a new team member, Rob Millist, has joined from an Arabic TV station.

Hollis explained: “London is a major hub and it’s just so much easier and cost-effective to move people around Europe from here. We’ve got a lot of opportunities both in the UK and in mainland Europe and this is a more flexible place to base ourselves.

“We’ve also got the set-up at Queen’s Park Rangers’ ground, where we do testing and demos and, largely, the guys will be based there between assignments or nearby at our new offices in Paddington. Being in west London means we’re close to Heathrow, too.”

The three Finnish members of the team are Jari Rantalainen, whose speciality is hardware and logistics; Pekka Valkonen, a former cameraman with a background in production; and Antti Summanen, who is Operations Manager. They are joined by Millist, who was previously with Marjan Television Network and who is being trained as a DBRLive system specialist.
“They will move from event to event, but also work individually with country partners as specialists on the system,” said Hollis.

“We’re heading into a crucial phase of our development now, as the company looks to maximise several opportunities, and I’m looking to further boost the numbers as we move forward. I’ll be looking for more potential system specialists and possibly resource in the area of project management and planning.”
