Waterpolo Championship moves to final stages

24 January 2012

The European Waterpolo Championships are providing the latest platform for Supponor’s technology as competitors progress to the final stages.

The Championships, in Eindhoven, are the first major pan European indoor event Supponor has broadcast from live, using its revolutionary DBRLive technology.

Twelve men’s teams and eight women’s teams are competing, keenly followed ahead of this summer’s London Olympics, and the games are being broadcast in more than 12 countries Europe-wide.

Supponor has used DBRLive to replace poolside billboard ads in broadcast feeds from 29 live qualifiers, and expects to cover another 14 games in the Championship’s finals at the Pieter van den Hoogenband Swimming Stadium this weekend.

Chris Buckley, Supponor CEO, said: “We've been extremely pleased with our performance at this event. It has not been without its challenges but ultimately we have already provided more than 30 hours of live broadcast.”
